Extraordinary Experience
Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Tommaso D’Apice, an Italian travel photographer. I was born in Naples and moved to London in 2011 in search of a new challenge.
Here I learned English, met inspiring people, and quickly fell in love with the city — so much so that I still proudly call it home.
My passion for photography started when I was a child. I loved looking at old photographs, partly out of curiosity and partly to see how places and people changed over time.
My father owned a simple film camera, a flash, and a small tripod. Nothing professional, but he had a huge passion for photography and a strong desire to leave our family meaningful memories.
From him I inherited both a love for photography and the desire to capture the world as I see it.
My first job was as a shop assistant in a store where I eventually bought my first camera — a Nikon F65. Even more importantly, it was there that I met someone who helped shape my path in photography: a newspaper reporter. From that moment, my passion for photography continued to grow.
Photography is now part of how I experience the world. Wherever I go, I am always looking for beauty — a scene, an angle, a unique perspective that tells a story. Even while waiting for a train, I find myself thinking about how I would photograph the moment.
When I plan a holiday, I don’t just think about the destination — I think about the gear I will bring. Which tripod? Do I need ND filters? Should I bring a telephoto lens? Photography changes how you see the world. It allows you to notice beauty everywhere — in landscapes, in architecture, and especially in people.
For me, photography is about capturing the beauty that exists in everyday life — the kind you sometimes only see through someone’s eyes.
